Installation
From PyPI
Section titled “From PyPI”pip install llm-parryuv add llm-parrypoetry add llm-parryThe distribution is called llm-parry. The module you import, and the
CLI command, are both parry.
parry ships as one abi3 wheel per platform, so a single wheel works on
Python 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13 and 3.14. Wheels are built for:
| OS | Architectures |
|---|---|
| Linux (manylinux, musllinux) | x86-64, aarch64 |
| macOS | x86-64, Apple silicon |
| Windows | x64 |
Extras
Section titled “Extras”parry has no required dependencies. It hooks whichever SDKs are importable. The extras are a convenient way to install them alongside:
pip install "llm-parry[openai]" # + openaipip install "llm-parry[anthropic]" # + anthropicpip install "llm-parry[langchain]" # + langchain-corepip install "llm-parry[llamaindex]" # + llama-index-coreSupported SDK versions
Section titled “Supported SDK versions”| Package | Tested range |
|---|---|
openai | 1.82 → 2.x |
anthropic | 0.52 → 2.x |
langchain-openai / langchain-anthropic | current |
llama-index-core / llama-index-llms-openai | current |
CI runs the full suite against the newest releases and a pinned older pair, so SDK changes that break a hook show up as test failures, not in your app.
From source
Section titled “From source”You need a Rust toolchain (the version is pinned in rust-toolchain.toml, and
rustup picks it up automatically) and Python 3.10+.
Install the latest main straight from GitHub:
pip install "git+https://github.com/IND-Anshuman/parry.git"Or clone it for development:
git clone https://github.com/IND-Anshuman/parry.gitcd parrypython -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activatepip install maturinpip install -e ".[dev, integrations]" # builds the Rust extensionpytestVerify the install
Section titled “Verify the install”python -c "import parry; print(parry.__version__)"parry pricing --provider anthropic
